I went to a fair over at Burgh Castle, some old cars and trucks turned up with stationary engines, motorbikes and some big yank motors.Big crowd and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves in the sun.

Clever dogs.

My old pals Waveney District Council have decided dogs aren't allowed on certain beaches at certain times, have to be on leads and a load of other rules which means you need a rule book and calendar as well as your flip flops if you are taking your dog for a swim.
Judging by what they leave behind, there are some intelligent dogs here as I've noticed they even use toilet paper and drink cans of lager, pity their owners can't train them to use the litter bins as well.

Lowstuffs a boom town,The BBC says so.

I've just been listening to a load of twaddle on the BBC saying Lowestoft is in the middle of a boom.Apparently a boayyard that burnt down a few years back has employed an extra bloke, from that they reckon the towns booming.
Nice bit of film they shew of the town centre though, pity it was about four years old, half the stores shown are now gone. What a load of tripe passes for local news on the BBC.
The only thing I see booming are the slum landlords turning empty office blocks into grubby little flats and bedsits with the cost of the work subsidised by grants and hand outs.Boom,my backside.
Meanwhile the endless traffic jams at least make sure Lowestofts contribution to global warming IS well and trully booming.

Let us spray

I bought a diesel injector tester yesterday.made by Snap On,a hefty looking piece of kit.All I want now is to summon up the enthusiasm to whip the injectors out of the taxi or the rover and test them.
Both the vehicles seem to run pretty much OK and faulty injectors and empty wallets are natural companions so I probably wont bother.More old lumber for the workshop.

Hello Sailor

HM customs are outside the living room window. Is that a gun on the forward deck or are the sailors just pleased to see me?.

What did we do on sundays before car boot sales.

I thought I'd have as look at a couple of local car boot sales/I don't really know why,I usually end up buying some old tat on the grounds that it might come in handy. It never does and a few weeks later I'll end up selling or more likely binning it.The car boot sale at Burgh castle provided a couple of those jump start thingies, both buggered but I managed to make one good one out of the pair.Gawd knows why,I don't need one and don't think they are much use anyway.
Still it might look good in the shop window I suppose.

Does F.I.A.T stand for fun in a taxi?

For the first time since I bought it someone tried to flag down the old london taxi I trundle round in.I don't know who was the most suprised,me,or my potential fare when he spotted the dogs in the back. Before buying the taxi I was warned that people would be for ever trying to clamber in the back at every traffic light or hold up but this was the first time it had happened.

As the dogs were just returning from a swimming session the guy would have got a wet backside. With its plasic floor covering, the taxi is easy to hose down after one of their swimming sessions, especially when they've been on the beach,I wouldn't try that with one of those horrible a modern people carriers.

Getting an erection in Lowestoft

SLP are building some some sort of platform for the oil industry.Surrounded by cranes it grows each day a bit like Topsy.
SLP are involved in wind farms and other constructions for the oil industry they are now taking over a lot of the old trawler basin and fish merchant premises on the dockside.New industry replacing the old, most fish is imported anyway but it's a shame to see more nails knocked into the fishing industries coffin.

Lowstuff on Sea.

Not much going on here today.Apparently, according to the local rag the towns all set for a boom.(again) and the third crossing has moved a step closer (yet again). The silly windmill went round for the first time in a fortnight (and then stopped again),the council have had their weekly bollocking for squandering or losing money somewhere or another and people are moaning about the noise and poo from the sea gulls.
Looks like another action packed day.
Lowestofts got a pedestrianised centre,a one way system with traffic jams. There's a Tesco and Asda, its full of tatty flats, bed sits and charity shops.Drop a blinfolded stranger in the middle of town and you could tell him he's in any one of a hundred other run down sea side towns.

Another day,another dollar.

A nice sunny day but still cold,I've opened the shop and there are orders to sort out on the computer. There are plenty of boats in the harbour,a few brave souls investigating all Lowestofts delights (that wont take them long) and a chill wind blowing papers and crap up and down the street. The bridge has just gone up creating it's normal jams to allow some diddy yachts to fart and splutter out to sea,the fountains are going so the pavement is nice and slippery and if some old biddy goes base over apex and the bridge is up at least the ambulance crew will get to wave at her.
Welcome to another day on the sunshine coast.
